Angela

Angela is native to Louisville and began studying belly dance under the guidance of Kelai in August 2006. Shortly after, she was invited to join Troupe Oasis and first performed with them in January 2007 at the UofL's Women in the LGBT Community's celebration. Since then she has also appeared with Troupe Oasis at The Peak Summit Arts Festival, UofL's 2008 Martin Luther King Day Celebration and the St. James Art Festival.  Angela has also participated in workshops with Jillina, Rachel Brice, Zoe Jakes and Mardi Love.

Janet

Janet was introduced to Belly Dance in 2005 by her daughter, Jeannine. Along with her other daughter, Laura, she has been learning the art and history of Belly Dance through Kelai. Janet's first performance was at Jeannine's wedding in 2007, as it is Lebanese tradition that the mother of the bride dances for the bride as a gift. Shortly thereafter, Janet and her daughters performed at the St. James Art Fair. She continues her instruction with Kelai.

Jeanine

Having always identified with and been intrigued by her Middle Eastern heritage, Jeannine Marie's love of Belly Dance began the first time she saw  the graceful art form. However, it wasn't until she began her proper training with Kelai in 2005 that her love for dance really took shape.  Jeannine Marie joined troupe Oasis in 2007, and has since performed at the Peak Summit Arts Festival, St. James Art Show, the University of Louisville, private parties, and most recently at the Dance your Paws off benefit. Her love for the dance continues to grow through dedication and study.

Melody

Melody began studying Belly Dance in the fall of 2005 under the instruction of Kelai. She has been a proud member of Troupe Oasis since August 2006 and has performed with them in: Gypsies on the River, UofL's Women in the LGBT Community celebration, the Peak Summit Art Festival, the St. James Art Festival, and UofL's 2008 Martin Luther King Day celebration. When Melody is not belly dancing, she is a chef in the Louisville area.
